People should feel safe and comfortable in their workplace.

This is too often not the case for female correctional officers who are exposed to indecent behavior by inmates. Senator Preston recognizes the value of these officers' work and the importance of having a diverse workforce. That is why he passed a bill that creates consequences for inmates who expose themselves to officers to curb this behavior in correctional facilities. The consequences do not penalize people with mental health issues and they include completing sexual harassment prevention classes and adding time to a sentence as a last resort.
