Protecting Our Firefighters

Compared with Firefighters throughout Illinois, those in Cook County were being limited in their promotion opportunities because of a county exemption.

Senator Preston thought this exemption was discouraging for firefighters and demotivated them to stay in the field. That is why he passed a bill that streamlines the testing and promotion processes for Chicago firefighters.
